Nadigayar Thilagam is a biopic of late legendary actress Savithri. The film is a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The telugu version has been titled Mahanati. The first look of Samantha has been released. Her character name in the film is Maduravani. Samantha apparently plays the role of a journalist in the film who narrates the story of legendary actress Savitri. 

Keerthy Suresh plays the titular role of Savithri. The film chronicles the life and times of one of the best-known actors of the golden era, Savitri. The film will release on May 9, 2018. The multilingual film is directed by Nag Ashwin. Dulquer Salmaan (as Gemini Ganesan), Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Anushka Shetty, Mohan Babu, Vijay Devarakonda, Shalini Pandey, and Prakash Raj play pivotal roles.
