Superstar Rajinikanth's Coolie produced by Sun Pictures, has been certified an A by the Central Board of Film Certification in India. This has come as a bit of a shocker considering that neither Rajinikanth movies, nor Sun Pictures productions (until Raayan in 2024) are ever associated with an A certification.
Sun Pictures has also announced that the Coolie trailer, which will be launched with a grand event at Chennai tomorrow, will release at 7 PM in Tamil on Sun TV's YouTube channel, in Telugu on Gemini TV's YouTube channel, and in Hindi on Sun Bangla's YouTube channel.
Coolie is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and has Rajinikanth playing the protagonist Deva, and Nagarjuna the antagonist Simon. Actor Sathyaraj plays a character named Rajasekhar, and Shruthi Haasan plays Sathyaraj's daughter Preethi.
Coolie also stars Upendra as Kaleesha, Soubin Shahir as Dayal, Aamir Khan in a cameo as Dahaa, and Pooja Hegde in a dance cameo as Monica. The movie has Anirudh Ravichander for music, Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, Philomin Raj for edits, and Anbariv for stunts.
